Power lips
One of the easiest ways to brighten up any makeup look is with a bright lip and the catwalks showed us that with style. From power reds aka Burberry to vibrant pinks at Chanel, lips are bold and fresh. Keep skin fresh and glowy to keep this 2019. Of course brush brows up and add a touch of mascara!

Tips: Choose a matte formula for a bright lip with longevity. Add a touch of gloss on top should you wish.
Ease yourself into a bold lip by wearing it as a stain (simply by dabbing it on first then blotting with a tissue) or opting for a balm-like formula.
Try:
Revolution Beauty I heart Revolution Dragons Dare Lipstick in Flame £4.00.
Take inspiration from the likes of Namvo & glow like a dumpling (Namvo’s adorable name for her fans). Embrace dewyness and a lit from within healthy glow. Think liquid highlighter and less is more where heavy, matte makeup is concerned. Enhance with a natural bronze (aka Molly Goddard SS19) over the cheekbones and skip contour. Healthy skin is a makeup look that will never go out of fashion.
This is for you if you love a lived in look. Pretty, illuminated and eyecatching: eyegloss is a modern way to update an eye makeup look. Previously reserved for editorial or red carpet, eyegloss has become accessible with beautiful products like the Lid lacquer from Surratt. Think like Katie Jane Hughes and keep base light and glowy when wearing glossy lids. Simply dab on with fingers for an edgy yet pretty look.

Tips: Opt for waterproof eyeliner and mascara!
Try:
Surratt Lid Lacquer £34.00 available here at Space NK.
Full Metal Shadow by Lancome £18.00 is a way of achieving a pearlised, shiny lid without the tackiness of a gloss-for those who may not like it. I say embrace it!
Colour
Wave goodbye to the dark smokes, say hello to brights: colour is here, and here to be played with.
Seen on the catwalks of Marc Jacobs and Rodarte, bold is beautiful. Stick with one shade to keep it modern.

Tips: Keep it wearable by choosing a hue to suit your skin tone. If brights are a little too scary, a wash of a lighter colour will be just as stunning!
And if the aforementioned looks are a little daring fear not, the runways (think Stella McCartney and Balmain) catered for all as no makeup makeup is 100% in (and always will be in my book). Allow your beautiful features to do the talking by subtly enhancing with shade and light.
While nothing new to many festival goers amongst you, glitter is having a moment outside of the party fields this Spring and Summer.
Whether you opt for the graphic glitter liners seen at Versace, fancy playing with Swarovski crystal’s aka Pat McGrath or wearing a simple wash of sparkle (think Kate Spade SS19) over your eyes, it’s time for fun.

Tips: Always apply glitter first, before any other makeup, then it’s easier to clean up any fall down.
Both of these products take the faff out of glitter application!
And so
Slide into the warmer months with ease knowing that this season is all about laid back makeup looks. Whether you wish to enhance with a glow or brighten with a pop of colour, the sky is your limit, or the makeup isles I should say! Be bold, be playful but most of all have fun, I know I will.

Which of these looks is calling out to you? Let me know in the comments!
Ahh i’m Glad you’ve found a new trend! It’s a fun way to play with textures and of course colours. I’d recommend using a waterproof or tubing mascara. But just have fun with it! Eyeshadow will always crease underneath an eye gloss, it’s part of the beauty of the lived in look. Have fun playing with gloss!
It’s one that’s not for everyone! Is it the texture that puts you off? If so the Lancôme ‘Full metal shadow’ is a liquid eyeshadow which dries completely, without any stickiness but still leaving a nice pearlised sheen. The Stila pearl shadows give the same effect. I can totally appreciate that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea! But if you like the sheen look, these products could be a way you could it. Hope that’s helpful 🙂
I haven’t heard of using eye gloss before! Looks beautiful! That’s something I’ll definitely be trying this summer!

I usually go for nude, natural make-up, but I love colourful lipsticks.
Nude and natural makeup is timeless! It is also the perfect complimentary makeup for bright colourful lipsticks too, so you’ve so much room to play!
