Murad Lipid-Enriched Double Cleansing Balm
Understanding that life is busy enough, that cleansing needs to be simple, Murad has developed a cleansing balm that effectively removes makeup, skincare, SPF, dirt and oils in one cleanse. Of course, should you wish to cleanse twice, you can; there’s no risk of barrier stripping here thanks to the inclusion of lipids and fatty acids that help hydrate and restore skin.
Rather than stripping the skin’s barrier, the cleansing balm gently but effectively eliminates the day’s grime, leaving skin feeling balanced and comfortable.
It works with all skin types and, being a balm, particularly suits normal to dry skin types.
For reference, I have an oily-combination skin with some sensitivity, prone to hormonal spots and pore clogging.
Key Ingredients
- Fermented camellia oil – tackles makeup, dirt, oil
- Lipids – nourishing, ceramide boosting
- Glycolipids – gentle cleansing agent
Claims
- Removes over 99% of sunscreen, long-wear makeup + waterproof mascara
Packaging And Price
The solid cleansing balm is housed in a pink cylinder with a lid. The clever pack has a twist-up grinder – I’ve seen this in Kbeauty products before, and it’s fantastic. The design allows you to twist up and release the balm as you need it, brilliant for hygiene and great to avoid messy spills.
It’s available in one size, priced at £35 for 50ml.
Murad Lipid-Enriched Double Cleansing Balm Review

The cleansing balm itself is a light, velvety butter that melts quickly with the warmth of my fingers. It massages over my skin with ease, emulsifies to milk with a little water and makes light work of breaking down my makeup.
I like a cleansing balm to emulsify well (if intended), and this transforms into a milky water with ease, wiping away with a cloth.
I have tested with a full face of makeup with layers of SPF and on days when I’m only wearing SPF, and can confidently say that the cleanser has performed each time.
The best part, there is no residue. I repeat, no residue! That’s something I really dislike.
The inclusion of skin barrier-caring ingredients doesn’t go unnoticed as my skin feels comfortable after use – I’m certainly not rushing to apply my skincare from the bathroom.
As I’ve been using this up, it has left my skin feeling comfortable after use, with no pore-blocking as can happen with some. I happily use this nightly, and I have oily/combination skin.

Final Thoughts
This cleansing balm from Murad feels like a staple, a no-frills, no-fuss everyday do-it-all that you know you can rely on. Its efficacy is supported by clinical studies and makes the cleansing step of your skincare routine quick and easy. Being fragrance-free, it is great for sensitive skin, and its key ingredients make it respectful of the skin barrier while making light work of tackling makeup, SPF and oils.
If double cleansing or fragrance irritates your skin, or you just want a quicker cleansing routine, then this is a great option, and it’s certainly one I will restock.
