The new Lancôme Lash Idôle Curl Goddess Mascara promises to be a game changer for anyone whose lashes refuse to hold a curl. Designed to lift, curl and volumise in one step, this latest addition to the Lash Idôle family features a twisted brush and fast-setting formula created to lock in curl and create wide-awake, fanned-out lashes. But does it truly deliver long-lasting lift without clumping, flaking or smudging? In today’s review, I’m putting Lancôme’s newest curling mascara to the test to see whether it’s worth the luxury price tag.

Who This Mascara Is Best For
This mascara is ideal for anyone who is looking for lift, curl, hold and a smudge free mascara. It is perfect for you if you have straight lashes or if your lashes tend to drop throughout the day. The mascara is not waterproof or tubing so bear that in mind if either is what you’re looking for.
The mascara promises to:
• stays lifted throughout the day
• minimal smudging or transfer
• comfortable, lightweight feel
It is a smudge free formula that can be enhanced with primer for added volume (though as you’ll see I’m not sure it’s needed…)
What the Lancôme Lash Idôle Curl Goddess Mascara Does
Lifts & Locks in Curl
Joining the original Lash Idol Mascara (one of my all time favourites), Lancome has boosted Lash Idole Curl Goddness with a fast-setting curl complex that sets quickly to hold lashes in a lifted shape before they can drop. This helps lashes stay lifted all day and reduces curl drop after application, making it ideal for those struggling with lashes that won’t hold a curl.
Lancôme claims up to 150% curl boost, making it especially suited to straight or downward-pointing lashes.
Adds Dramatic Volume
The formula builds volume creating a thicker lash appearance without heaviness, it is buildable and can be worn in a light natural layer or built up for a dramatic effect.
Lash Idole Curl Goddness Mascara:
• helps lashes stay lifted all day
• reduces curl drop after application
The Finish:
• fuller-looking lashes
• thicker lash appearance without heaviness
• buildable intensity from natural to dramatic
• separates lashes for a fanned look
• reaches small corner lashes
• enhances eye-opening effect
The 40° Twisted Brush Explained

The brush is one of the most important parts of a mascara and this is even more true when looking for a mascara that holds curl.
The way that the wand deposits, lifts and combs through the lashes can make all of the difference to the finished effect. So the 40° twisted spiral brush with dual micro-reservoirs caught my attention. Designed to lift and create hold while grabbing each hair, the brush does all of the work for you. Bristles in varying sizes allow for added definition and help to create a fanned, lashy look.
The mascara packaging itself is in a luxurious rose gold textured tube that mimics a curve. It is easy to open accessibility wise and looks gorgeous on a vanity.
The mascara is ophthalmologist tested and suitable for sensitive eyes.
The Formula
My lashes: naturally long, fair, tend to droop with weight of mascara so always need a lash curl
Lancôme Lash Idôle Curl Goddess Mascara is a quick setting formula. Designed as a mascara to keep lashes lifted it is more of a dryer formula than some, so if you’re not a fan of those super wet mascaras then this may be appealing. The fast setting helps to immediately create hold around your newly lifted lashes and it does this with ease.
The brush is a little tricky to get to grips with a first, I’ve definitely ended up with some mascara on my eyelid as I trial this but once I became used to the shape I have to say that I love it.
I particularly enjoy pushing the wand at the base of my lash roots at the convex, rainbow curve side and giving it a wiggle to get that extra definition before combing up and through the lashes. Then on my next comb through gently rotating the wand a little as I go. The effect is fantastic. I achieve a more lifted curl using the wand this way.
The mascara builds easily and quickly! One coat gives fluttery lashes, two coats add drama and definition. It is easy to overload on the second coat, however a quick comb through with a lash comb fixes this.

All Day Wear?
One of my mascara pet peeves is smudging so any claims that I may not look like a panda by hour one (never mind EOD) have me intrigued.
Lancôme Lash Idôle Curl Goddess Mascara claims to be smudge, flake and clump-free and my dry eyes certainly put this to the test. A side effect of my chronic illness is dry eyes which require top ups of prescription eye gels and drops throughout the day. So mascaras have their work cut out to stand the test of that added lubricant. Let me tell you, I am beyond impressed, with only the tiniest transfer by hour 7 – I am floored! This really is fantastic.
The only exception to this was when I had a little cry one day, this resulted in minor transfer and flaking. I don’t discount the mascara for this however, as it doesn’t claim to be waterproof.
Does The Mascara Hold A Curl?
Granted, I don’t have the most poker straight lashes but they also require a lash curl to create a lift. The outer lashes are also straight and droopy, so always a challenge; you can see in my pictures that they have held extremely well. My application was without curling my lashes and I still achieved incredibly lifted lashes that stayed all day.
I’ve had compliments on how incredible my lashes look and am genuinely impressed by their appearance at the end of the day when it comes to makeup removal.
On that note, the mascara removes with ease with a regular eye makeup remover, Lancôme’s Mascara Melter or a cleansing balm.

Lancôme Lash Idôle Curl Goddess vs the Original Lash Idôle
The original Lash Idôle mascara is known for creating feather-light volume and beautifully fanned lashes with a soft, fluttery finish.
Its curved elastomer brush separates and defines each lash, making it ideal for everyday wear and a clean, lifted look.
Curl Goddess takes the Lash Idôle style of defined lashes but focuses on maximum curl hold and dramatic lift, especially for lashes that drop or refuse to stay curled.
It features a 40° twisted brush and fast-setting formula designed to lock in curl and boost volume. The brush has less flexibility ensuring the lashes are pushed ans curved in place.

Is It Worth the Luxury Price Tag?
At £28 this is a luxury mascara. I find that mascaras are something that the high street does excellently, so more affordable brands should never be discounted. However, the original Lash Idole is a favourite mascara of mine and in my eyes, worth the price point, if it’s within your budget. I would suggest the same for the Curl Goddess Mascara also, if you are struggling to find a mascara that truly holds a curl as this is rather effective.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a mascara that lifts straight lashes this new launch is worth checking out. The packaging is very chic and it’s an addition the the Lash Idole line that makes sense.
The long-lasting curl mascara is one that I have reached for the most since it arrived and has throughly impressed.
