Looking for the perfect mascara can often feel like a quest for the holy grail! That’s what makes mascaras one of my favourite beauty products to test! I demand a lot from mascara, well my eyes do! So when this brand teased their launch I knew I just had to have it. Today, we’re putting to the test the Lisa Eldridge Kitten Lash Mascara.

Lisa Eldridge Kitten Lash Mascara
When kittens with fluttery lashes appeared on Lisa’s socials just over a week ago the excitement was palpable, a mascara was coming! I’d say mascara and concealer are the top two products on my House of Eldridge product list right now (it keeps growing of course), so I was excited to meet Kitten Lash. The question dear friends, is would it live up to the hype, both brand hype and my very own!
Kitten Lash Mascara is a lightweight formula designed to lift and define lashes.
The finish is a fluffy, malleable lash that can be manipulated and fanned out.

- Carnauba Wax – Helps to hold lash curl
- Jojoba – Lash nourishment

Packaging & Price
My first note when it comes to packaging is the tube’s wiper system. The ability to effectively control how much product covers the wand and how much is kept within the tube doesn’t go unnoticed. The wand is not overloaded with product and this allows for a much better application and of course, saves wasted mascara.
Aside from the mascara itself, the wand or brush is everything when it comes to mascara. An effective wand can change the way a product applies, is deposited, and how a lash lifts or is defined.
With Kitten Lash we have a moulded plastic wand, that has flexibility which means it can move a little with the lashes. The wand has lots of different length bristles which are designed to grab lashes as applied.
She’s curvy: Shaped like a semi-circle the wand is designed to lift and curl the lashes and can be used in a concave or convex shape depending on preference. The tip of the wand can add delicate shape and definition to the bottom and corner lashes.
Kitten Lash is housed in a beautiful gold tube with the Lisa Eldridge logo that fits in beautifully amongst all the other products in the range.
Review & Application
Having worn Kitten Lash every day since it arrived, I’m ready to share my thoughts.
My lashes and mascara woes for reference:
I have incredibly dry eyes thanks to a medical condition (Sjorgens) that makes them run & requires constant eye drops topped up throughout the day. This can impact a lot of mascaras and many do not pass the smudge-test on me! So if one does, it truly holds up! My eyes can be a little sensitive.
I’m currently using an eyelash serum so my lashes are quite lengthy. I usually curl my eyelashes but have not done for this review.
My right eyelashes are a little sparse and jut about a little, I’m also missing some on my bottom lash line due to a chicken pox scar! I usually spend time combing the lashes out, however haven’t while testing so you can see the exact result.
Application:
Four coats, uncurled lashes.
For my first application, I wanted to see how far I could push the mascara. I was able to create a beautiful lift, brilliant curl and some volume, but I did apply four coats. I found I had flaking throughout the day here.

Two coats, uncurled lashes.
Next, two coats. A little wiggle at the roots adds nice volume which blends into a fluffy lash as the brush is pulled through the length of the eyelashes. The mascara applies quickly and easily, and I find that two coats give gorgeous, wide-eyed fluttery lash with zero smudging or flaking.
I wanted to see if the results differ dramatically when using the wand either pushing with the curve up, or using the wand with the curve under. I found both ways lifted and curled my lashes but, as expected, applying the mascara with the wand in its convexed shape creates more lift.
Two coats is my go-to application for most mascaras and this certainly gives me a brilliant result here.

One Coat, uncurled lashes.
I’m impressed by how easily I can build a natural but full lash. One coat really does give me a striking lash that is pretty and wearable. What’s particularly nice is that even though this mascara isn’t about volume, it doesn’t leave lashes looking sparse. The wand deposits the bulk evenly giving oomph! even with just one coat.
Kitten Lash truly lifts my lashes and seems to hold the curl well. The lift and curl last all day, which is impressive in itself but even more so when I’ve got very long lashes that tend to need curling – thanks to my lash serum!

To Smudge Or Not To Smudge
As I mentioned, I tend to cause many a mascara to smudge. I have oily skin, and weepy-dry eyes (an oxymoron if ever there was one!) and I drip eye drops into my eyes throughout the day! Kitten Lash did not and has not smudged on me yet. Call me impressed!
The mascara is available in black at launch, the colour is a dense black that truly coats the lashes. I’m hoping for the addition of a brown shade at some point too!
Final Thoughts
I must say, this is a pleasurable mascara to use. There’s no stiffness or heavy buildup and lashes don’t feel weighed down or crispy, in fact it is so lightweight that I’ve forgotten that I’m wearing it. It is a very pretty mascara if one can call a mascara that. The finished lash look is a soft, fluttery enamoured one, feline if you will.
The fact that I haven’t experienced any smudging is very impressive! At £29 this is a luxury mascara. It is not a mascara that is about mega volume and instant density. This mascara is for you if you’re looking for a lightweight, barely there feel with a lifted, curled lash that is defined and lengthened in a pretty, feline way.
