For their christmas 2018 collection Dior launched six new shades of their Diorific lipstick collection, which of course are limited edition. Who can say no to that opulent gold case? Not me, that’s for sure.
I opted to treat myself to the nude offering, no. 360 Élégante, a vintage pink. Which is oh so reminiscent of a favourite, and now discontinued lipstick (don’t you hate that?!) of mine, ‘Rose Dentelle’, from Chanel (you’ll forever be in my dreams).
A sucker for beautiful packaging (see how I was bowled over by Lisa Eldridge’s first stand alone makeup offering here) it was a moment or two of admiration of the stunningly jewelled bullet before I opened the actual lipstick, to do what one must always do at first, smell it. It smelled good. We all know a good and a bad lipstick smell, I’m leaving that there. Call me strange but I do love the smell of lipstick.
Moving swiftly on…
Dior lipsticks don’t come cheap. They do however pack a punch, perform well, come in an array of beautiful colours and my oh my, live in beautiful gold houses.
The shade, no. 360 Élégante
The colour is a pinky nude. Enough pink to brighten the completion while still remaining nude and true to its taupe-brown self.
I’ve spoken before about my dislike of many a matte lipstick due to incredibly dry lips, so it takes a special one for me to wax lyrical.
Diorific Lipstick no. 360 Élégante
Application and formula
It is surprisingly gentle on application. By this I mean there is no drag that’s often found with a matte lipstick.
The colour is significantly pigmented enough to cover my lips in one application and is surprisingly hydrating and comfortable to wear.
I don’t feel I need a lip liner with this shade and feel I can enhance my natural lip shape nicely with the bullet itself due to its shape; of course this will wear with use.
It’s not a flat matte, like say a liquid lipstick, it has movement and because of this doesn’t sit so much in any fine lines.
For the love of Dior
Christmas may have come and gone but my beady eye tells me this lipstick’s still available (see here) should you wish to splurge. And splurge you will, Dior lipsticks don’t come cheap. They do however pack a punch, perform well, come in an array of beautiful colours and my oh my, live in beautiful gold houses.

Oh I love that shade on you – looks fab. I used to buy Dior lip products all of the time when I was in my 20s but haven’t in a while – need to re-visit their counter I think x

Thanks so much! Oh you should! I’m a big fan of their lip glow lip balms as well, they’re so hydrating and come in such a pretty range of colours! x
