Price & Packaging
Like all Tilbury products, the new Charlotte Tilbury lip gloss arrives in a card box that contains all of the product information.
The lip gloss packaging itself is a completely new design for the brand. A chunky tube (especially in comparison to Lip Lustre, the brand’s other lip gloss) which has a moulded billowing, cushioning ‘pillow’ effect. There is a gold lip motif that has a lipstick (or lipgloss) in the centre.
A central window shows the shade of lip gloss and will show the amount of product left as it is used.
The gloss opens with a twist and the larger tube with its moulded design makes it easier to grip than some gloss tubes. The doe foot is a good size with a diamond-pointed tip that allows you to control application and define lips.
Overall the design is playful, however, if I’m completely honest, this isn’t my favourite packaging visually from the brand. I usually adore Charlotte Tilbury makeup products for their lux style and vintage appeal, but this one hasn’t quite had the same impact on me.
In terms of price Pillow Talk Big Lip Plumgasm is £27 for 5.5ml. (per ml £4.90) and compares well to others in its price point.

Lip Gloss Review
The lipgloss is available in Pillow Talk Fair-Medium, a peachy neutral akin to the iconic lipstick and Pillow Talk Medium-Deep, a muted, berry-toned brown with a rosy hue.
I have both shades which I’ve swatched for you here.
Plumpgasm Lip Gloss is a tinted plumping lip gloss. The shades have a good amount of opacity, enough that you can wear the glosses alone without lip liner or lipstick and still achieve a gorgeous tinted lip.
I have tested with the matching lip liners and they do, of course, add extra depth and increase longevity.
The gloss layers beautifully on top of the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick in the matte Revolution formula. This increases opacity and of course wear time, however as you can see by the earlier image, it isn’t needed.
Within a few moments after application, a tingling sensation starts as the plumping ingredients get to work. This isn’t too much and certainly does not burn or sting like some on the market.
I do think it helps plump my lips somewhat and I like the overall effect.
The lipgloss itself feels lightweight, it is not sticky whatsoever and gives a pleasant hydration. I can see myself reaching for these a lot!
In terms of longevity, this isn’t a long-wearing product. The modern formulas that have a beautiful non-sticky finish, tend to lack longevity, which you have in more traditional lip glosses such as Kryolan High Shine Gloss. Layering with the Matte Revolution Pillow Talk Lipstick underneath will help to increase wear time.
Final Thoughts
This is a welcome launch from the brand at a time when lip glosses are back in vogue! The gloss feels very comfortable to wear and the shades are very pretty.
They celebrate the infamous Pillow Talk and add a great option for those who perhaps prefer more hydrating options; given that Pillow Talk lipstick is a matte lipstick formula. I’d love to see it available as a clear lip gloss also as I think that would make a great addition, be it for wearing over lipstick or on its own for beautiful plumped lips.
