When it comes to styling, a good hair tool can save time and effort. I’ve been putting the Babyliss Air Wand to the test recently, so let’s discover more.

Babyliss Air Wand
Haircare and hairstyling is a section of the beauty market that is jam-packed with innovative products and designs, and household name, Babyliss, has launched its version of an “all in one” styler.
The Air Wand is a hair dryer, straightener and styler in one. It promises fast drying times, straightening and styling effects with no heat damage and takes hair
from wet to styled.
The Air Wand retails at £120.
Testing
My hair type for reference: My hair is naturally curly-wavy. I have an oily scalp with dry roots, my mid-lengths tangle without trying and my hair attracts water and frizz like it’s going out of fashion and takes an age to dry!

Fast powerful drying
Babyliss say: “Super-fast 123km/hr air speed and advanced airflow technology give all the drying power of a regular hair dryer.”
I’m very impressed with the hairdryer. My hair naturally holds onto water and if I let it air dry, would still be damp in the evening after a morning hair wash! So I appreciate a fast dryer. This certainly delivers. It is also lightweight, 380g, another thing that I appreciate as I do have mobility problems.
There are 3 airflow settings and 4 temperature settings which give a range of options depending on your needs.

Straightening
Babyliss say: “Straightener with a series of precision-engineered ceramic plates, perfectly configured to smooth and straighten from the root as you dry.”
It’s handy to have a straight attachment for this styler and I could see it being useful if travelling and wanting to save luggage space.
The Air Wand with the attachment is easy enough to use, simply glide the attachment down the hair. What’s unusual is the hot air blowing from it, which takes a moment to get used to!
While the straightener headpiece smoothes and does give a straightened finish to my hair, it’s not the same finish as a traditional straightener. It seems to lack the sleek ‘ironed’ look‘. Of course, it depends on what finish you’re looking for! My hair is prone to frizz and humidity so I know it wouldn’t be enough to keep it tamed.

Volumising
Babyliss say: “A curved oval brush with a perfect combination of detangling and polishing bristles to smooth and volumise for an easy blow-dry finish.”
My favourite attachment! The styling brush is a great size to add volume at the roots, should you desire. It helps to smooth hair, leaving it frizz-free and you can use it to style the ends into place. I actually find this works best for my hair and really gives a sleek, bouncy finish.

Features

There are a few features to mention. The Babyliss Air Wand has an ‘Ultra-care mode, which regulates the heat helping to prevent damage. It has an Anti-frizz technology which uses positive and negative ions to get rid of frizz.
The styler comes with a 2.5m long length salon cord and a 3-year Guarantee.
I’ve been enjoying getting to know the Air Wand. I do find my hair gets oiler a little faster than when I use a different hairdryer, I believe it may be the ionic technology (based on previous experience). This wouldn’t prevent me from using it, however.
I love how lightweight it is, and how quickly it can dry my hair and the styling brush is fantastic.
The Air Wand is a multipurpose hair tool that is value for your money. I think it’s a great gift idea for the upcoming festive period.
