Tropic Skincare Hydrating Cleanser
Tropic Skincare’s hydrating cleanser is described as a ‘refreshing facial gelée’ and is the fourth cleanser to join the range alongside: Smoothing Cleanser, Clarifying Cleanser and Radiance Cleanser.
It is a hydrating, gel formula suitable for sensitive skin, fragrance-free and pH balanced.
Its key ingredients:
- hyaluronic acid – increases moisture
- aloe vera- calms and soothes
- cucamelon- helps to tackle free radicals
Tropic Skincare claims through clinical results (I.e, under a microscope, not just user experience) that the cleanser “instantly triples skin hydration”.
Hydrating Cleanser is 100% naturally derived and works to effortlessly remove impurities for all skin types.
Tropic Skincare is Leaping Bunny cruelty-free.
Packaging & Price
Tropic Skincare hydrating cleanser comes in a recyclable plastic bottle that is slightly tinted. It has a pump top with a lock mechanism for product longevity.
The cleanser decants well, my only concern is that the bottle can be a little slippy when hands are wet.
Tropic uses Provenance as a way of verifying accessibility and ethics in terms of sustainability.
The cleanser is priced at £22 for 125 ml.
Review
Hydrating cleanser has a soft gel texture. It feels refreshing and calming on application. It is viscous enough to allow me to effectively massage, to help break down oils and easily rinses away by splashing water or by removing with a face cloth, whichever is your preference.
Immediately after I find my skin feels hydrated, there is a pleasant plumpness to its appearance and no tightness whatsoever.
I’m a big fan of gel cleansers. Having an oily/combination skin type means they have naturally been my first love and this one is no exception. I have been reaching for this ever since landed on my doorstep.
In my mind this makes a great morning cleanse or second cleanse in the evening.
One thing to keep in mind is that while this is a hydrating cleanser, those looking for uber nourishment may wish to look to other cleanser types e.g creams, balms.
Final Thoughts
This is a great launch from Tropic Skincare. It rounds off their cleanser collection nicely providing options for different needs and texture preferences. If you’re looking for a refreshing, hydrating cleanser that is gentle but effective then you may want to check Hydrating Cleanser out.
