Kbeauty superstar, Laneige, has taken the UK by storm and its latest launch the Laneige Water Bank Cleanser is hot property right now, so let’s check it out.

Kbeauty (Korean beauty) is infamous for indulgent, 10-step skincare routines using products formulated with ingredients rooted in Korean history, that result in hydrated, glowing, ‘glass’ skin. One of the brands to master this is Laneige. As Kbeauty brands and techniques have risen in popularity within Western society (yay for us!) it has bought exciting formulations and products to our shelves. Laneige is a brand that has been particularly popular – The Lip Sleeping Masks were the ‘it’ lip balm for last year and their most viral product here in the UK.

Simply put, Laneige is fresh, it’s cool and it brings with it exciting modern formulas. There’s no wonder the brand has taken off.

Water Bank Cleanser joins the Water Bank Range, a line of 12 products designed to fortify skins barrier and boost hydration.

This is the range you go for lightweight, non-greasy hydrating skincare. It has products that are suitable for all skin types. Normal, oily and dry skins are catered for. The range is well curated.

Water Bank Gentle Gel Cleanser is a pH 5.0,non-drying gel cleanser. It is designed to gently cleanse the skin, removing impurities while leaving it hydrated.

Cleansing claims were proven in In-vitro test results in clinical trials and in separate clinical study results showed a decrease a moisture barrier loss after four weeks; therefore they are stronger results than user feedback.

The cleanser uses micella technology to remove make up and sunscreen. This technology uses lipophilic agents which absorb oil and hydrophilic agents to remove the make up while rinsing away.

Fragrance free, soap free, synthetic colorant free, suitable for use around the eyes

Laneige Water Bank Cleanser – Packaging

This is a 250ml plastic bottle with a pump. The cleanser is housed in a card box which is printed with product details and ingredients. The pump works well and is easy to use – even with my dropsy prone hands!

Review

The cleanser can be used in two ways; as in every day cleanser and as an effective make up remover.

For a gentle cleanse apply to damp skin massage and rinse away. I find this perfect for my morning cleanse or as a second cleanse.

To remove make up or SPF it is best to apply the cleanser directly onto to dry skin massage, add water emulsify, and rinse away.

This is a lovely cleanser. It is gentle enough to use twice a day and I like that you can use it both for makeup removal and as a first cleanse. This makes it ideal of your not a fan of buying two cleansers e.g a cleansing balm and a gel cleanser.

I find that it removes make up well but I still prefer to remove heavy duty mascara with makeup remover or an oil fist. My skin feels hydrated. There is no tightness whatsoever. It has been a welcome addition to my skincare routine.

A note for skins that long for more:

This is a gentle, hydrating cleanser. However if you’re looking for ultra nourishment post cleanse, then a cleansing balm or cream cleanser is your best option.
