Let me introduce you to the L’occitane Caring For Sight Collections. These gorgeous sets have been created to celebrate World Sight Day and support L’occitane’s Caring For Sight initiative.
Caring For Sight
Caring For Sight is one of L’occitane’s six commitments to both people and the planet.
We want to live in a world where everyone can see and experience the true beauty that nature has to offer.
L’occitane
This commitment began in 1997 when they started using braille on products where possible and grew in 2006 when the L’occitne foundation was born. By partnering with UNICEF L’occitane achieved an impressive target of 10by20, helping 10 million beneficiaries of eye care by 2020. The next goal; to have 15 million beneficiaries gain access to eye care by 2025.

This is where the L’occitane Caring For Sight Collections come in. £5 from the sale of every collection will be donated to UNICEF to help fund vitamin A supplementation programs worldwide.
A Little On Vitamin A
Through their partnership with UNICEF, L’occitane helps fund programs that treat vitamin A deficiency, a deficiency that represents one of the leading causes of infantile blindness. During 2017-2019 L’occitane donated one million euros in their partnership, helping more than four million children receive treatment.
With a continued commitment, the L’occitane foundation and UNICEF hope to prevent infantile blindness in more than 3 million children by 2022.
The Collections
In collaboration with Ruby Taylor, L’occitane has three Caring For Sight Collections. Each set is designed with nature and the Provencal ingredients as its theme and comes in a gorgeous card box, perfect for storage (you know I love to repurpose boxes!).
Each collection is a different, infamous scent from L’occitane:

L’occitane Caring For Sight Collection – Botanical Scents
I have the Botanical Scents collection to share with you, and I must say, while I’m a fan of all of the scents L’occitane has (and I do love the shea and Almond Collection) the Verbena collection is possibly my ultimate favorite! I just adore its freshness!
Inside the box, we have a well-curated set of fresh treats. A Verbena shower gel is a perfect way to wake up in the morning. The soap is a chunk of goodness that will last and has that traditional herby freshness that makes you long for warm evenings in Provence (if only eh?!).
The Verbena Eau de Toilette is a perfect way to get a feel for the scent and is the ideal handbag size.
Furthermore, from the Herbae collection comes the beauty milk, a hydrating yet lightweight moisturiser and hand cream enriched with shea butter. The scent is fresh and floral with hints of wild grass.

Final Thoughts
There are 285 million people in the world who suffer from visual impairment, and sadly in 80% of these cases, subsequent blindness would have been preventable if treated appropriately. To learn how L’occitane has and is helping to support work in this area is wonderful. As a chronic illness and disability advocate I like to raise the voices of those who support our communities, therefore was pleased to share L’occitane’s work with you today.
It’s wonderful to know that with our shopping, whether for ourselves or for gifts (it seems Christmas is coming quickly this year!) we can do some good.
