The festive season is certainly looking a little different this year, however, there are still some fantastic Christmas experiences in Northumberland, right on our doorstep, to enjoy and I wanted to take a moment to share them with you. Not only to spread the Christmas cheer but to support local too!
Winter Wonderland Experience
Sadly, most of the Santa gatherings that are part of our yearly calendar have been cancelled this year, however, Falconry Days have a wonderful winter wonderland experience in store.
An afternoon around a campfire as children pen letters to Santa. Watch as the letters are flown to Santa by Owls… sounds pretty magical, doesn’t it?

Here’s what you will experience:
“Wrap up warm and enjoy some festive magic as our Owls fly off to Lapland with your letters for Santa Claus.”
2pm Start (duration 2 hours)
- Sit around the fire writing your letter for Santa Claus then watch in amazement as our specially trained Owls fly off to Lapland through our magic tunnel.
- Reply letter from Santa.
- Making an Owl mask with real Owl feathers.
- Hot chocolate & roasted marshmallows.
- Mulled wine for the adults.
- Warming log fires.
- Winter warming broth.*
- Hot dogs.*
- Meet over 85 birds of prey and watch them fly over your head and land on your hand.
- Items marked with * carry a small charge on the day.
- Very limited number of people on each session.
- £30.00 per person (under two years are free of charge).

- No spectators.

The Alnwick Garden Christmas Light Trial
Wrap up warm for an outdoor Christmas experience!

There will be a gigantic selfie frame which will be live streamed via The Alnwick Garden website. The Alnwick Garden is encouraging visitors to bring written messages to show to loved ones around the world and spread their message of hope and reunion this Chrismas.
Professional photographers will also be on-site throughout the event, allowing families to capture their memories.
The Alnwick Garden Christmas Light Trail runs from 4th – 31st December. Tickets are priced at £11 per person and can be booked via:
